The Tower of London is supposedly one of the most haunted sites in Britain. Built 900 years ago, this well preserved building was once home to executions, murders and tortures. Over the years, many sightings of ghosts have been reported here. One of the most famous ghosts known to haunt this place is that of Ann Boleyn. Wife to Henry VIII, she was beheaded on Tower Green in 1536. Her ghost has been seen many times, often carrying her head, in the Tower Chapel Royal and on Tower Green. Other ghosts that have been sighted here include that of Thomas Cromwell, Henry VI and the Countess of Salisbury just to name a few.
