The year of the Mayan Calendar coming to an end has arrived! We are all aware of the December 21, 2012 Doomsday prophecy, but I wanted to take a moment to share this video. What are your thoughts?

2012: A New Era for Humanity?

As the year 2012 approaches, we will continue to be bombarded with more doomsday, apocalyptic, end of time predictions. I myself am guilty of writing previous posts that focus on the doom and gloom scenario. Due to all the negative hype that 2012 has generated, a NASA scientist felt it was time to address this issue.

What if 2012 marks the beginning of a new era for humanity, a new path towards enlightenment? I think we are still a long way from enlightenment.

Approaching 2012

With December 21, 2012 fast approaching, many are asking-what, if anything, is going to happen? What we do know is that a major cosmic event will take place on the night of the winter solstice which occurs every 25, 800 years. This major cosmic event is going to be a galactic alignment. This is when the earth will be in direct alignment with our sun which will be in direct alignment with the center of our galaxy. In recent years scientists were able to confirm that at the center of our galaxy is a super massive black hole. Scared yet? Some geophysicists are coming forward with the theory that this alignment will cause a polar shift (video) and some of the worst solar storms we have seen. If that does occur we are expected to see catastrophic environmental changes. Others believe the doomsday predictions that this is going to be the end of time as we know it. Coincidentally the Mayans, Nostradamus, the I Ching and Hopi elders all foresaw great change for our planet during this time.

No one knows with exact certainty what is going to happen. At this point there's a lot of speculation. My ears are tuned into what the scientists are saying.

The Nephilim

The Nephilim are beings, as mentioned in the Book of Genesis, who are said to be a race of giants who inhabited the Earth around 9000 B.C. The race of giants are described as being the offspring of human women and fallen angels.

Recently I have come across a number of articles referencing to the Nephilim and 2012. Some believe that as 2012 approaches so too will a massive, anomalous object, that in 1983 was discovered by infrared satellite. This object, believed to be a planet on an elliptical orbit that passes Earth every 3,600 years, was seen disturbing Neptune and Pluto's orbit. A controversial belief is that this planet is actually a starship whose inhabitants are the Nephilim beings.

Whatever it is, something seems to be out there. As for this "object" being a starship with alien beings on it- I am not convinced. What do you all think?

December 21, 2012. To some this is just a date in the near future and nothing more. While to others, both past and present, this day marks great cataclysmic change for our planet.

According to the ancient Mayan civilization and their sacred calendar, which is considered the most accurate in the world, December 21, 2012 is the day their calendar ends and marks an end to a 5, 126 year era. The question is why and what message were the Mayans trying to convey? The Mayans are known for the knowledge they possessed of our solar system and its cycles. They were incredibly accurate sky watchers and, as such, able to make future predictions.

For the first time in about 26,000 years, on the day of the winter solstice, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way. This means that the energy that typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will be disrupted. The Mayans saw this future event and marked it down so to speak. So how will this affect us here on Earth? Some believe that it is the end of the world as we know it. Others think that a polar reversal will take place causing huge disasters. Many scientists agree that this alignment will cause an increase in volcanic activity, solar flares and many more environmental disruptions. But will it wipe us off the face of the earth? We have 5 years to find out!
