Haunted Dolls

When you hear the word haunted you immediately associate it with homes, cemeteries and places that have been around for centuries. Do you believe that items can be haunted? What about haunted dolls? A number of people swear they exist. They have even been known to show up on eBay for auction.

This is the true story of Annabelle. A haunted Raggedy Anne doll which was the focus of a case that famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren took part in during the 1970's.

The Warren's were contacted by a priest claiming that two young women were being tormented by a spirit in their apartment. The women and another tenant witnessed objects moving on their own along with messages written with childlike penmanship appearing on paper. Shortly after these strange incidences, the two women decided to call a medium for help. The medium told them that a seven year old girl named Annabelle Higgins died on the property and was responsible for the terrifying disturbances they were experiencing. The spirit of the little girl was happy were she was and wanted to stay around the two women. The spirit asked if she could stay with them by going into the doll and the two women said yes. They felt sorry for the little girl and wanted to comfort her. Soon after, the women claimed the doll would move to other rooms on it's on and change positions after being left a certain way. Things took a turn for the worse one evening when something attacked a male tenant leaving slash marks on his chest.

Ed and Lorraine began their investigation immediately. Here is the full account of what has become the most asked about case that the Warren's took part in.

This story gave me the creeps. I never liked those dolls....

Yeah possessed Dolls are freaky, I've held a few of the years and always enjoy handing them back to their owners.

Another blogger, 6th, did a few posts about them over here: http://6thsensitive.blogspot.com/2007/03/possessed-dolls-contd.html

I'll be getting around to reviewing your blog soon and thanks for the link.

I believe that objects can be haunted. I think a lot of the supposedly haunted stuff that appears on ebay, though, is just a scam to make money.

Here are a couple of links that you might find interesting. Both are about supposedly haunted objects, one of which is a doll and both of which are clowns. They are supposedly true, but who knows?

I remember the story about this Raggedy Anna doll when I was around six years old back in the 70's. To this date, I fear this doll and have nothing to do with it.

I can not believe I found this story on the internet and I thought this story wasn't around anymore. Thanks for the link to the whole story and now I know I've had a fear of this thing.
