Throughout time, eyewitness accounts of strange humanoid creatures have been documented all over the world. Here is an incident that took place in Lee County, South Carolina.
Back in the summer of 1988, near Scape Ore Swamp in South Carolina, a seventeen-year-old named Chris Davis stopped to change a flat tire on his car. Once finished, something caught his attention.
“I looked back and saw something running across the field towards me. It was about 25 yards away and I saw red eyes glowing. I ran into the car and as I locked it, the thing grabbed the door handle. I could see him from the neck down – the three big fingers, long black nails and green rough skin. It was strong and angry. I looked in my mirror and saw a blur of green running. I could see his toes and then he jumped on the roof of my car. I thought I heard a grunt and then I could see his fingers through the front windshield, where they curled around on the roof. I sped up and swerved to shake the creature off.”
When Chris arrived home he woke up his parents to tell them of his frightening encounter. His dad went to look at the car and noticed that the mirror on the drivers side was broken along with deep scratch marks made on the roof.
Davis was not the only person to witness this strange creature. A group of teenagers were driving on the same road, and claimed to have seen a creature similar to Davis' description dart across the road. In the fall of the previous year, a construction worker named George Holloman saw a creature cross the road and enter the nearby swamp. Holloman went to the authorities after this incident, but was not taken seriously until Davis' story was later heard.
Davis took a polygraph test shortly after his encounter with the "Lizard Man" and passed.
In the following months, numerous reports of sightings were made to the authorities. The police found three-toed prints in the area and destroyed property nearby where witnesses claimed they saw the creature.
To date no one knows where the creature came from, but for those who were there are certain it exists.

People laugh off this kind of story a lot, but they shouldn't laugh too hard. They're discovering new and interesting species in the animal kingdom all the time. For instance, tales of "giant squids" were always thought to be "fish stories"...until a couple of years ago when they were documented and photographed for the first time. National Geo also did coverage on this story.

All too often witnesses are said to be crazy or just seeing things. I think that some people are making things up...which does not help those out who actually did see something.
Great article; I linked to it and used it as a source for a post I wrote on the Lizard Man.
In my research, I discovered a news report from WIS-TV regarding the Rawson's, whose van was allegedly vadalized by the Lizard Man. Additionally, the story cited that a cow and coyote were found dead in close proximity to one another.
Again, great post and good work.
Best,
Conor
