The Houghton Mansion in North Adams, Massachusetts, is one of the most haunted buildings in New England. Today, the former residence of North Adams' first Mayor, Albert C. Houghton is home to the North Adams Masonic Association and the Berkshire Paranormal Group.
Four untimely and tragic deaths (that took place within 11 days) are said to be associated with the mansion including that of Albert C. Houghton. These tragedies of accidental death, suicide and death from despair are believed to be the cause for all the paranormal activity experienced here. The types of activity experienced by staff and visitors include: cold spots, sounds of footsteps and voices, slamming of doors, lights going on and off and the sensation of being touched.
Recently the team from Ghost Adventures investigated Houghton Mansion. Their experiences and findings will air tomorrow night at 9 p.m. ET on the Travel Channel.
