With December 21, 2012 fast approaching, many are asking-what, if anything, is going to happen? What we do know is that a major cosmic event will take place on the night of the winter solstice which occurs every 25, 800 years. This major cosmic event is going to be a galactic alignment. This is when the earth will be in direct alignment with our sun which will be in direct alignment with the center of our galaxy. In recent years scientists were able to confirm that at the center of our galaxy is a super massive black hole. Scared yet? Some geophysicists are coming forward with the theory that this alignment will cause a polar shift (video) and some of the worst solar storms we have seen. If that does occur we are expected to see catastrophic environmental changes. Others believe the doomsday predictions that this is going to be the end of time as we know it. Coincidentally the Mayans, Nostradamus, the I Ching and Hopi elders all foresaw great change for our planet during this time.
No one knows with exact certainty what is going to happen. At this point there's a lot of speculation. My ears are tuned into what the scientists are saying.

Interesting post.
The 2012 prophecies are exciting, yet foretell a great time of danger.
However, with so many describing different catastrophic events I doubt it they can all be true. But I could be wrong, and in that case, the end is nigh.
We will have to see what 2012 brings us.
