Australia is home to a number of hauntings. One of this countries most well known ghosts is called 'ghost of the outback'. Eyewitnesses have recalled seeing a "short dark-featured" apparition on numerous occasions near Corroboree Rock. Many believe this to be the spirit of a man from the Arunta Aboriginal Tribe. Members of the tribe were known to use the area where this spirit has been seen for their initiation ceremonies, sometimes ending in death. In 1959, the Reverend R.S. Another well known haunted location is that of the Monte Cristo homestead in the town of Junee. This place has it all. Apparitions seen floating through rooms, unexplained noises, and objects moving about on their own. It is often called "Australia's most haunted house" and I can see why. There are those who have been so frightened by what they encountered here that they refuse to return.
