Night in a Haunted House

Here is something that may interest my UK readers.

CHARITY CHALLENGE: A night in a haunted house

BRAVE souls have the chance to test their mettle and raise money for 4SIGHT, the West Sussex Association for the Blind.

The charity is holding its Haunted House Challenge on Friday, March 28, at Wymering Manor in Cosham near Portsmouth.

Almost 250 people have taken part in the challenge in the last three years, and the charity asks people to raise a minimum of £60.

Wymering Manor, recorded in the Domesday book, is the oldest house in Portsmouth.

From 1042 it belonged to King Edward the Confessor and after the Battle of Hastings in 1066 it became the property of King William the Conqueror, until 1084.

The house is renowned as a favourite of ghost hunters across the UK, many of whom visit it regularly in the hope of seeing its previous occupants.

Anyone interested in taking part and raising money to support services for the blind in West Sussex can contact the 4SIGHT fund raising team on 01243 838008 or email bev.tinson@4sightsussex.co.uk.
