Oak Alley Plantation

Be sure to tune into Ghost Hunters on SciFi tomorrow night to see their investigation of the Oak Alley Plantation.

Oak Alley Plantation
was built in 1832 by George Swainey for Jacques Telesphore Roman, and has become the most famous haunted house in all of Louisiana. There are twenty-eight evenly spaced, living oak trees that line the path to the mansion. The trees are approximately 300 years old and were planted here by a French settler who once had a home where the mansion now sits. If you think you have seen this place before, you probably have. A number of movies have been filmed here- Interview with a Vampire and Primary Colors just to name a few.

Reports by staff and visitors of pararnomal activity include:Hearing sounds of an approaching phantom coach, sightings of a female ghost in dark 18th century clothing, sounds of crying and footsteps when no one else is present. There have also been a number of shadows reported moving about- which cannot be explained.

If you are in the area and interested in checking this place out for yourself-tours are offered. Click the link I provided above for more information about this magnificent place.

That show was awsome! I actually got to visit Oak Alley a few years back. Unfortunately, nothing out of the ordinary happened while I was there. Would have been cool if it had. :o)

What did you think of the show?

Such a beautiful place-I'd love to photograph it someday.

The show was good. They captured some good evidence.
