Validation From A Loved One

This is in response to my When The Dead Call post. My thanks to the person who submitted this story.

"As my husband and I were leaving the hospital where my mother had just passed away, we had to cross the street to get to my car - As we were waiting in the center divider area for the cars to clear, my cell phone began ringing.

I waited until we were on the other side of the street to answer my phone.

As I grabbed my phone from my purse, and went to answer it, I looked at the screen and it was black. I then realized I had turned my phone off while in the hospital.

We both thought it odd to have it ring as much as it did, and it not have the phone on.

Then the next day we had other strange occurrences happen in our house, such as the tv in our living room changing to the Golf channel. I looked around and no one was in the room with me, and the remote was on sitting on top of the other couch. Then I remembered the last conversation I had with my mother - we talked about golf, and that I would take her and dad miniature golfing when she got better.

Just after this incident I walked into the bedroom where my husband was watching tv, I said nothing to him as I thought it was just conincidental. Just then the tv in the bedroom changed to the golf channel. This also happened to my brother a few months later. I know this must have been my mother telling me she made it to heaven."

Russian UFO Crash

On August 28, 1991, a UFO crashed in the Tien Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan near the border of China. The crash site is in a place called "Shaitan Mazar," Russian for "Grave of the Devil."

"The incident of Shaitan Mazar began on August 28, 1991, at shortly before 5:00 P.M. An extremely large object approximately 600 meters long, and 110 meters in diameter appeared over the Caspian Sea, showing on radar screens of the tracking station on the Mangyshlak peninsula. Radar computations showed the object moving at the speed of 6,300 miles per hour, at an altitude of 21,000 feet."(UFO Casebook)

The military was alerted to this and immediately sent four MIG 29 fighters to the area with orders to force the craft to land, and if the orders were ignored, to then shoot the craft down. Once the MIGs got within visual range, the pilots saw a "gigantic, elongated, metallic gray object." When pilots tried to fire upon the craft all controls malfunctioned and they were unable to down the object. Due to this, the MIGs were ordered back to base. The object disappeared shortly after from radar.

Rumors surfaced by locals in the region that a large craft had crashed into the mountains. An expedition of locals was formed to find the site, but due to the dangerous weather conditions they were forced to turn back. The Russian Air Force found the crash in November but, when a helicopter crashed, killing all aboard, the Air Force called the search off until better weather arrived. That time came in the spring of the following year and once again the craft was found. "There it was, a craft from another world." Also, the craft was still emitting an energy field of some type. Expedition member Emil Bachurin would state, "You could feel it all around." The crew was still some 1,500 meters from the craft, but its unbelievable size was clearly discernible even from that distance. As the group approached to within 1,000 meters of the craft, they were overcome with an intense feeling of dread, and anxiety. As they continued to approach the craft, these feelings created an overwhelming fatigue." Some crew members received radiation burns at a distance of 800 meters form the craft. Also cameras malfunctioned and all video tape evidence was ruined at the time of taping.

I could not find any more information as to what happened to the craft. If anyone has further knowledge on this incident, please comment. Thanks.

When The Dead Call

Phone calls from the dead? It may sound crazy to you but, numerous people who have lost loved ones have experienced this and in some cases even have the evidence on their answering machines. Most often the calls come on dates of importance or shortly after the person dies and in the form of a farewell message. In the majority of the cases the connection is of poor quality, the voice sounds far away and ends abruptly. There have even been a few accounts of people placing calls to a person who has already passed away and the deceased answers the phone!

Here are some true stories told by those that have experienced them.

Something Strange, Indeed

This happened to my older brother, Matt, about a year ago, just a few weeks after my eldest brother Jeremy's best friend, Joe, died of heart trouble. Matt received a telephone call from a person that sounded exactly like Joe. He said something like, "Matt, it's Joe. Is Jeremy home? Something really strange is going on." Matt freaked out and could hardly answer, "No, he's not. Sorry." Then the phone hung up and Matt looked at the caller I.D.; it read, "Out of area." So Matt tried *69, but they were unable to trace the call. We never got another telephone call from Joe. It still scares Matt to think of it. - Janaye S.

Say Goodbye, Grandpa

My husband lost his grandfather a long time ago. But just recently he has been experiencing something really weird. He has seen his grandfather's name on our caller ID. So we thought someone was calling from his grandfather's house. That was the first time, and no one was even home. Just today, for the second time, he was at work and clearly, along with co-workers, heard the phone ring. He answered it on the first ring, but only heard a dial tone. When he looked at the phone's directory, which has no caller ID, but lists who he has called, he saw the grandfather's name again. What could this mean? How could it be happening? - Leroy L.

Money is Useless Here

One of my clients related this story to me a few years ago. At the time she worked for the Department of Social Services and one of the services she offered was checks for emergency expenses. She had issued a check for $100 to one of her clients for utilities and was about to close the file when her phone rang. On the line was the woman to whom the check was issued. The woman sounded vague and distracted, but clearly said, "I won't be needing that $100 after all." My client made a note of it and went on with her other work. That evening at home she was reading the newspaper when she saw the obituary of the woman she had talked with on the phone. She had died the previous day! - Mary B.

Strange Sightings By U.S. Navy

A particularly interesting series of UFO reports came from the vicinity of the "Operation Mainbrace" NATO maneuvers held in September 1952. The maneuvers commenced September 13th and lasted twelve days. According to the U. S. Navy, units of eight NATO governments and New Zealand participated, including 80,000 men, 1,000 planes, and 200 ships in the vicinity of Denmark and Norway. Directed by British Admiral Sir Patrick Brind, "it was the largest NATO maneuver held up until that time." September 13:The Danish destroyer Willemoes, participating in the maneuvers, was north of Bornholm Island. During the night, Lieutenant Commander Schmidt Jensen and several members of the crew saw an unidentified object, triangular in shape, which moved at high speed toward the southeast. The object emitted a bluish glow. Commander Jensen estimated the speed at over 900 mph.

Within the next week, there were four important sightings by well-qualified observers. (Various sources differ by a day or two on the exact dates, but agree on details. There is no question about the authenticity of the sightings; the British cases were officially reported by the Air Ministry, the others are confirmed by reliable witnesses. All occurred on or about September 20). September 19: A British Meteor jet aircraft was returning to the airfield at Topcliffe, Yorkshire, England, just before 11 A. M. As it approached for landing, a silvery object was observed following it, swaying back and forth like a pendulum. Lieutenant John W. Kilburn and other observers on the ground said that when the Meteor began circling, the UFO stopped. It was disk-shaped, and rotated on its axis while hovering. The disk suddenly took off westward at high speed, changed course, and disappeared to the southeast.

About September 20, personnel of the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt, an aircraft carrier participating in the Mainbrace maneuvers, observed a silvery, spherical object which was also photographed. (The pictures have never been made public). The UFO was seen moving across the sky behind the fleet. Reporter Wallace Litwin took a series of color photographs, which were examined by Navy Intelligence officers. The Air Force project Blue Book chief, Captain Ruppelt stated: "[The pictures] turned out to be excellent. Judging by the size of the object in each successive photo, one could see that is was moving rapidly." The possibility that a balloon had been launched from one of the ships was immediately checked out. No unit had launched a balloon. A poor print of one of the photographs appears in the Project Blue Book files, but with no analysis report.

September 20, at Karup Field, Denmark, three Danish Air Force officers sighted a UFO about 7:30 P.M. The object, a shiny disk with metallic appearance, passed overhead from the direction of the fleet and disappeared in clouds to the east.

September 21, six British pilots flying a formation of RAF jets above the North Sea observed a shiny sphere approaching from the direction of the fleet. The UFO eluded their pursuit and disappeared. When returning to base, one of the pilots looked back and saw the UFO following him. He turned to chase it, but the UFO also turned and sped away.

September 27/28, throughout Western Germany, Denmark, and southern Sweden, there were widespread UFO reports. A brightly luminous object with a cometlike tail was visible for a long period of time moving irregularly near Hamburg and Kiel. On one occasion, three satellite objects were reported moving around a larger object. A cigar-shaped object moving silently eastward also was reported.

Since existing documentation shows that U. S. Navy and Air Force Intelligence, and the RAF, were studying these incidents, it is a safe assumption that more information exists in the files of NATO, the British Air Ministry, the U. S. Navy, and the U. S. Air Force.

The sightings remain unexplained.

Paranormal Researchers Create New Device

Recently I was contacted by Rick Moran, Coordinator of The Association for the Study of Unexplained Phenomenon (ASUP), with information about a new device that ASUP staff have developed. Here is the press release that was sent to me by Rick.

Paranormal Researchers Create New Device

The Association for the Study of Unexplained Phenomenon (ASUP, Inc) a non-profit 501(c)(3) research and educational corporation dealing with the paranormal and dedicated to the study of theories concerning the survival of the human consciousness after death, has announced today that their research and development staff has completed work on a prototype device similar to what is commonly called FRANK’s BOX, after its original inventor, Frank Sumption, that has been claimed to be a working, “telephone to the dead.” The ASUP began fabricating their device after they learned that the original “box” would not be made available for serious research by groups like their own.

Almost a year in the making, the R&D team at ASUP now say that their box outperforms the original devices; preliminary testing suggests that the new box does appear to create coherent words and phrases, in fact team engineer Ron Ricketts has reported that while still working on the device on a work bench with the system running, the speaker said his own name very clearly on three separate occasions.

The group however is making no advanced claims for what they now call the Mini Box, except to say they will begin field testing of the unit and that it will be made available to anyone seriously interested in studying it. The Mini Box has a U.S. patent pending.

The ASUP’s Director of Operations, April Slaughter has explained that the group is not in the business of selling technology, but that the Mini Box will be made available to anyone interested by the first of the year, through a separate company that specializes in high tech gear for paranormal investigators. She indicated that the units will be sold at as close to the cost of manufacturing them as possible.

Slaughter will be introducing the box at this year’s TAPS outing to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado on the weekend of November 16, where she will allow investigators to use a prototype unit. She again cautioned that the ASUP is making no wild claims about the device, except to say that it functions perfectly and that they have had great results from limited testing in the lab.

Most Haunted Location In Japan

The most haunted location in Japan is believed to be a dark, dense forest which lies at the base of Mt. Fuji called Aokigahara. Aokigahara is an infamous place for suicides and many feel that it is a sinister place. "The perfect place to die." That's how Aokigahara was described in Wataru Tsurumui's bestselling book The Complete Manual of Suicide. In 2002, 78 bodies were found within it, replacing the previous record of 73 in 1998. The forest is believed to be haunted by Yurei, which are restless Japanese ghosts. Nearby residents and workers believe that these Yurei live in Aokigahara tormenting all those that go inside.

UFO Encounters: Officials In Washington

On Monday, a group of high level government and military officials along with pilots from around the world will come together in Washington to urge the U.S. government to re-open its investigation into the UFO phenomenon. Here is the press release for this event.

"The American public is not alone when it comes to sighting what the US Air Force has labeled Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). So too have former governors, high level military and government officials, highly trained airplane pilots and aviation experts. The phenomenon is real. It happens worldwide. No one is sure about its nature. Experts from seven countries will divulge what they have discovered about UFOs at a November 12 panel discussion moderated by former Arizona Governor Fife Symington (R) at the National Press Club.

Just one year ago, pilots, mechanics and managers from United Airlines witnessed a metallic disc-shaped object hovering over the United Airlines Terminal at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. The clearly observed object shot straight up leaving a hole through the clouds. Despite the clear aviation safety issues involved, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) never investigated the incident and dismissed it as weather. This head-in-theclouds refusal to investigate stands in sharp contrast to efforts by governments of other countries to understand these incidents.

“I believe that our government should take an active role in investigating this very real phenomenon,” said Symington, who was a witness to the famed ‘Phoenix Lights” incident seen by hundreds in Arizona while he was governor. “This panel consists of some of the most qualified people in the world with direct experience in dealing with this issue, and they will bring incredible, irrefutable evidence, some never presented before, that we simply cannot dismiss or ignore,” he said.

The group, using previously classified documents, will discuss many well-documented cases, including two investigated by the US government. The first involves a Peruvian Air Force pilot who fired many rounds at a UFO which was not affected. The second was an Iranian Air Force pilot’s attempt to fire at a UFO, but whose control panel became inoperable. “This case is a classic that meets all the necessary conditions for a legitimate study of the UFO phenomenon,” stated the US Defense Intelligence Agency document on the Tehran incident.

Both pilots will come forward to speak about these events publicly for the first time.

New A&E Series: Paranormal State

There is a new A&E series called Paranormal State which will premiere on December 10th. The show "will chronicle the case files of the Paranormal Research Society (PRS), a renowned group comprised of Penn State University college students, who travel the country to investigate accounts of paranormal activity."

PARANORMAL STATE is an upcoming half-hour series chronicling the extraordinary life of Ryan Buell and other members of the Penn State University Club The Paranormal Research Society (PRS) as they seek to find the truth behind terrifying real life mysteries, hauntings and ghosts. In some ways, the members of PRS are your basic college kids - dealing with the problems of school, dating, and finding their way in the world. The difference is that these students are drawn to examining "other" worlds as well -- working on cases that include ghosts, hauntings and other paranormal phenomena. Each week, they are contacted for help by outside parties ranging from the Catholic Church to ordinary families who are terrified by unusual events in their homes.

Unnatural Forces Caused Sicily Fires

What could cause everyday household objects to simply burst into flames? According to an Italian government report, unnatural forces were the cause.

A village in northern Sicily experienced a series of unexplained fires involving everyday household appliances and objects. The phenomenon occurred three years ago when residents began reporting witnessing objects "bursting into flames." The strange happenings were captured on video by local news stations in the area. Wedding gifts, electrical appliances and furniture were seen smoldering after somehow being set ablaze.

A number of specialists and officials were brought in by the Italian government to determine the cause. Arson was quickly ruled out after one scientist saw a unplugged electrical cord burst into flames. After two years of research the team concluded that the fires were "caused by a high power electro magnetic emissions which were not man made and reached a power of between 12 and 15 gigawatts."

Seeing a UFO became a topic in the Democratic presidential debate. The reaction of the crowd in this You Tube video says it all. One can only guess how the government views the existence of alien life, but the fact that the entire auditorium laughs shows that the debate is over in the public eye. Any hope of having this issue handled like any other public policy debate is essentially over.

Phantom Black Dogs

The phantom black dog is a legendary creature said to roam throughout Great Britain in graveyards, open fields and roadways. According to some, the belief is that these dogs actually appear near ley lines. Primarily nocturnal, the black dog is believed by many to be malevolent and a portent of death. Unlike conventional canines these phantom hounds are large with glowing saucer shaped eyes and, are said to appear and disappear at will.

Many would regard the phantom black dog as nothing more than legend and folklore. However there have been numerous sightings in the past and in more recent times that deserve our attention.

In 1577, during a sever thunderstorm, two people were killed by a mysterious black dog while they were attending a church service in Suffolk. The demonic looking creature is said to have materialized right before parishioners killing those it brushed against. The church still stands and on its door are blackened scorch marks which many believe to be made by the dog as it exited the church. Commemorating this event, a creepy looking weather vane sits atop the roof of the church in the shape of a devilish dog. Many years later, in 1973, a worker near the church reported hearing a panting dog close by although nothing could be seen.

Just a legend? Perhaps. But to those who have encountered the phantom hound and, lived to tell their story, these creatures are as real as you and I.

Ghost Hunters Live at Waverly Hills

Ghost Hunters was live at Waverly Hills Sanatorium last night for their second annual Halloween investigation. Unable to watch the entire 6 hours, I made it through the first 2. On the second floor, where the ghost of a little boy is said to remain, a ball was recorded moving by itself on command. Also, sounds of footsteps and strange lights were seen by team members in the infamous body chute. Unfortunately for me, I missed whatever came next. I will be looking forward to the reveal which will be aired next week on SciFi.

I do have to say the one thing that really annoyed me during the show was the overlay of "creepy" music. I found it loud and quite irritating. I was unable to hear if any "unexplainable" noises were occurring. Other shows dealing with the paranormal do this too. I guess producers try to set the mood. I wish they would omit the cheesy music already!
